Why
Every day algorithms are being created to improve our life. They are increasingly present in everything we see and do and most of the time, without us even realising. So It would be normal to expect that they are being built with our lived experience in mind, in order to create a safe and fair world.
Unfortunately this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Algorithms and machine learning systems are only as good as the minds creating them. Even if they are built with the best intentions, without taking the stakeholder views into account we will fail to protect people.
